Mr. Larry Richards, 86, of Woodbury died October 24, 2011. He was born in Woodbury on March 12, 1925. His parents were the late Clyde E. Richards and Mary (Brevard) Richards. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Alice (Churchwell) Richards. Survivors include his son, Greg & Carol Richards of Germantown, TN; daughters, Karen & Larry Tucker of Jefferson, GA and Julie & Russell Longcore of Marietta, GA; a brother, Dorris Brevard Richards of Portland, OR; grandsons, Jarrett Smith, Ben Richards and Joel Richards. Mr. Richards was a member of Woodbury First Baptist Church. He graduated Woodbury Central High School in the Class of 1942. Following graduation he entered the U.S. Army serving with the veterans in CBI (China, Burma & India) during WWII. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He began working for the U.S. Treasury Dept. While working for the Treasury Dept. he earned his Law Degree. He retired from the Treasury Dept. with 28 years service. He then opened a law practice in Woodbury with Richard Northcutt. They were later joined by Dale Peterson and Kyle Williams. Mr. Richards was also a Lion's Club member since 1976. Graveside services were on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 2 PM at Riverside Cemetery. Hunter Hay officiated. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Woodbury First Baptist Church.
