Larry Adam Merritt

Mr. Larry Adam Merritt, 66, of Woodbury died May 10, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born July 21, 1945 in Cannon County, TN. His parents were the late Willie Adam Merritt and Eva Hestle (Mears) Merritt. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lee (Young) Merritt, sister, Martha Jo McCullough. He is survived by nieces, Patricia Davis of Murfreesboro; Brenda Doss of Manchester; step-daughter, Connie Newby of McMinnville; several great nieces and nephews; special friends, Gloria Braund, Earl West, Jim Bryant, Jerry Pelham, Jerry Porter, Wendell Mitchell and Harold Foster. Mr. Merritt was a retired logger and worked many years for Eugene Reed's Sawmill. He enjoyed going fishing and sitting around whittling. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2 PM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Greg Mitchell will officiate.
