Katherine Batey

Mrs. Katherine Foutch Batey, 89, of Woodbury passed away June 27, 2012. She was born Sept. 20, 1922 in Auburntown, TN. Her parents were the late Bedford Foutch and Mary (Odom) Foutch. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, James Batey; daughter, Shirley (Jerry) Chestnutt of Murfreesboro; son, Jimmy Joe (Diane) Lyons of Murfreesboro; sister, Nora Lyons of Woodbury; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Batey was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Readyville. She was a long time employee of the Cannon County School System. Many people knew her from her outgoing and friendly personality and from the countless meals she prepared for her family and friends. She was always devoted to her family and willing to help anyone in need. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 12-1 PM at the Grace Assembly of God Church, 2999 John Bragg Hwy. Woodbury. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM. Interment will be in Donnell Cemetery in Auburntown. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. (615)563-5337
