Deborah Turner Crutcher

December 26, 1949 — July 27, 2012

Mrs. Deborah A. Turner-Crutcher, 62, went home to be with her Lord and Savior July 27, 2012 after a long, hard and courageous battle with A.M.L. She was a native of Cannon County and a graduate of the Woodbury Central High School Class of 1968 and a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ. She was born December 26, 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Turner and Gertrude (Todd) Turner, brother-in-law, John Barrett (Mose) Melton, Jr. and nephew, John (Johnny) B. Melton, III. She is survived by her husband Wayne Crutcher, sister, Martha D. Melton of Woodbury, niece, Susan Melton, great nephew and niece, Jason (Kristy) Melton and their children Ashlyn, Addison & Allie, Emily (Brent) Hargrove and their children Weston, Ethan and Claire and her babies as she called them, that she dearly loved and cherished, Cody, Jaz, Bailey, Max and Bear (her pets). Debbie was an Administrative Officer with the V.A. Murfreesboro, where she helped so many veterans and staff with their problems. She was a very loving and caring woman. She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who had the pleasure to know her. By her request in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, Local Animal Shelters or the Child Advocacy Center or any center for abused children in that she had a deep love for children and animals of all types. Donations may be made by contacting Smith Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of 3 North Sarah Cannon Cancer Center for all they have done for them. Heart felt and very special gratitude to the Staff, especially the Nurses at the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic 3rd Floor Suite, for the care and encouragement they always provided. They will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 2-6 PM and Monday, July 30, 2012 from 10-11 AM. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 following visitation in Riverside Garden. Herb Alsup will officiate. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. www.smithfuneralhomewoodbury.net (615)563-5337
