Mrs. Billie Gail Barrett, 73, of Woodbury died August 15, 2012. She was born in Shelbyville on March 18, 1939. Her parents were the late Frank Gilley and Ethel (Smith) Gilley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Alton Wade Barrett. Survivors include three daughters, Debra & Mike Perry of Woodbury, Tonie Bain of Woodbury and Christy Barrett of Smyrna; three brothers, Jack Gilley and Terry Gilley both of Nashville, Ed "Buddy" Carson of Shelbyville; a great grandson that she raised Charles Lee Lambert; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Barrett was born in Shelbyville and later moved to Nashville with her family before settling in Smyrna for many years. She worked for Peachtree Nursing Home in Smyrna for many years before retiring. She loved spending time with her family and lived her life very simply. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 11 AM until 3 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Smith Funeral Home chapel at 10:30 AM. T. B. Gentry will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
