Mr. Russell LaFever, 50, of Woodbury died October 16, 2013. He was born in Cannon County on January 20, 1963. He is survived by his parents, Leon Frank and Wilma Lance LaFever of Woodbury; sister, Angie Kay (Eddie) Read of Smyrna; devoted companion of fourteen years, Karlene Conner of Woodbury; daughters, Heather (Matt) Handley of Spring Hill and Hope LaFever of Walter Hill; step-son, Josh Conner and step-granddaughter, Brooklynn Conner both of Woodbury; two nieces, Chelsa Read and Baylie Read of Smyrna and many other relatives and friends. Russell grew up and lived in Cannon County his whole life. He worked for 21 years at the Jefferson Smurfit box factory. He later got involved in real estate and started Woodland Estates. He owned and operated Ben's Lakewood Market and Southern Star Restaurant for 14 years. Russell loved anything with a motor, motorcycles, cars, trucks, golfcarts and etc. His favorite trucks were yellow. He liked to play pool with friends and enjoyed music. He loved to trade with people, but his favorite thing was just talking and being with family and friends. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2 PM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Greg Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be in Sycamore Cemetery.
