Mark David Eaton

Mr. Mark David Eaton, 49, of Woodbury died on February 17, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born in Cheverley, Maryland on May 24, 1964. He was preceded in death by his father Charles L. Eaton and a sister, Elsie Marguerite Hill. He is survived by his mother, Hattie L. (Catron) Eaton of Woodbury; brother, Charles R. Eaton of Murfreesoro; sister, Chlora R. Strelow of Homosassa, FL; nephew, Jared Eaton and nieces, Sarah Strelow and Amanda Newman. He also had several close friends including, Stanley Smith, Bobby Moore, Michael Ford, Michael Bray and Ricky Markum and many more good friends and close relatives. He was born in Maryland and soon after his family moved to Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa. Following graduation, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for construction companies for many years. He and his family moved to Woodbury in about 1982. He was scheduled to begin a job in Alabama when his father became ill. He left work to stay home and help his parents during the following years. He was a devoted son and worked with his father on jobs at different times. He took his parents places they needed to go and helped with anything he could. Mark grew up in the Baptist Church and became a born again Christian. Mark loved people and especially children. He had the gift of gab and could talk to anyone. He was known to be willing to help anybody. He loved and was close with many of his cousins and other relatives. He was even named after one of his cousins. Mark enjoyed all types of music, going hunting, fishing and target shooting. He loved animals from an early age, when his family raised Collies. His favorite animal was his little dog, Monkey. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 11 AM until 12 noon at First Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at the church. Hunter Hay and David Faulkner will officiate. Smith Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home by contacting Smith Funeral Home.
