Mrs. Helen Ferrell, 70, of McMinnville formerly of Woodbury passed away on October 7, 2014. She was born on August 21, 1944 in Woodbury, Tennessee. Her parents were the late William “Bill” Jessie Davis and Ida Pearl (Underwood) Davis. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Mathis; sister, Wanda Patrick and a half brother, Arvil Mooneyham. She is survived by her son, Jeff Waggoner of Smithville; daughter, Sharon Higgins of Nashville; sisters, Thelma Hibdon Womack and Margie Walls both of Woodbury; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a special friend Lee Moody. Mrs. Ferrell was a member of the Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Val Dor in Woodbury, Spartan in Smithville and Bridgestone Tire. Mrs. Helen had a good sense of humor. She liked to cut up and have fun but she would also tell you what she thought. People knew her to have a big heart. She loved her kids, grandkids and especially her great grandkids and made sure to spoil them every chance she had. She was a fan of the Titans and would hardly ever miss watching a game. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday, October 9th and 10th from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2 PM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel.
