Mr. Donald Frederick Clark, Sr., 85, of Watertown passed away on June 10, 2015. He was born on November 16, 1929 in North Haven, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles John Clark and Lillian Otto Clark; wife, Elizabeth Jean Sauter Clark; son, Paul Clark; brothers, Charles, Raymond and Edward and sisters, Maude, Helen and Charlotte. He is survived by his sons, Donald & Deborah Clark of Readyville and Tim Clark of Watertown; daughters, Donna & Jack Higginbotham of Williamsport, Lillian Penn of Hampshire and Sally & Max Santiago of Plantation, FL; fifteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Mr. Clark grew up on a large farm and learned how to work hard from a young age. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War on a special detail that provided protection for the Ethiopian Emperor. He and Mrs. Elizabeth married soon after he got out of the Army and began their family right away. He had a gift for being able to work on all types of things and he became a mechanic. He worked for Tilford Lumber company repairing their equipment for many years after moving to Woodbury. He enjoyed carpentry and being skilled with his hands to do many projects. He loved animals especially his dogs. He spent his last day on earth doing what loved, working on his mower and in the garden. He was a member of the Methodist Church. His family was the most important thing in his life. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grand children every chance he had. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on June 13, 2015 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 3 pm. Rev. Donna Higginbotham will officiate.
