Mrs. Elizabeth Ann (Lowery) Buckingham, 70, of Readyville passed away on August 24, 2015. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on April 22, 1945. Her parents were the late Carl E. Lowery and Margaret E. (McCafferty) Lowery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rhea Buckingham; brothers, Eddie Lowery and George Lowery and a sister, Nancy Raines.She is survived by her sons, Paul (Tammy) Buckingham of Shelbyville, Joshua (Marlette) Buckingham and Jonathan (Janice) Buckingham both of Readyville; daughters, Beth (Mike) Paris of Rockvale, Deborah Buckingham of Readyville and Rachel (Santos) Vasquez of Bradyville; brothers, Tommy (Jean) Lowery of Brentwood and Milton (Shera) Lowery of Satsuma, AL; twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Mrs. Buckingham took great joy in raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the type of person who never met a stranger, always quick to share a story and talk with anyone. She loved to read the Bible and attended Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville. She and her family enjoyed their farm life. They raised dairy goats and a garden. They enjoyed working together and were a very close knit family. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 11-2 pm. Funeral services will follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Dr. Jim Tedder will officiate. Interment will follow at the Lassiter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to the Bible and Literature Missionary Foundation by contacting Smith Funeral Home.
