Ralph Shipp Davenport, 63, of Suffield, husband of the late Pamela Davenport, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016. Born on February 1, 1953 in Woodbury, Tennessee, to late Clarence and Georgia (Shipp) Davenport, one of nine children, moving to Suffield 20 years ago. Ralph was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed at FexEx shipping & handling departments and also owned and operated The Claybrook Landscaping Company. Ralph was an avid golfer, and an active participant of the VFW Landry Sic post #9544. He was a loving father who is survived by three children, Taylor, Connor, and Olivia Davenport, all of Suffield; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Walz and her husband John of Long Island, NY, and Miriam Governale of Long Island, NY; brother-in-law, Charles Horn and his wife Cathy of Long Island, NY; five brothers, Melvin (Linda) Davenport, Thad Davenport, Lynn Davenport, Bobby (Kathleen) all of Woodbury, TN and C.W.(Linda) Davenport of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Judy (James) Norrell of Hill City, GA, and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by his wife, Pam, his parents and a sister, Mary Frances McFerrin, Freddie Davenport and Wayne Davenport. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August, 30 at 10:00AM at The Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield; burial will follow with military honors in West Suffield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 29 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
