Mr. Ferrell Lee Wilson age 82, of Woodbury passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation. He was born July 4, 1934 in the Kittrell community in Rutherford County, but spent many years in Cannon County. His parents were the late Clinton and Jewell (Ferrell) Wilson. He was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ. Ferrell was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War February 2, 1954 until December 19, 1955. He retired from Avco after 36 years. Ferrell attended Woodbury Central High School. He enjoyed bird watching, working with flowers and plants, fishing, hunting and was also a master craftsman of wood working. Ferrell is survived by his daughter, Beverly (John) Siddons; two grandchildren, John Tyler Siddons, and Shelby Nichole Siddons of Rockvale; one sister, Peggy (Gerald) Tate of the Gassaway community; two nephews, Russell (Robin) Tate of Woodbury and Mark (Shelia) Tate of Wake Forest, NC; special caregiver and friend, Faye Houston and Whyte Barrett. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1 pm in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Bro. Herb Alsup will officiate. Interment will be in Thyatira Cemetery near Bradyville. Active pallbearers will be John Siddons, John Tyler Siddons, Wallace King, Jackie Francis, Mike Richardson, and Khaled Hessein. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bell, Billy Tenpenny, and Whyte Barrett. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to either Thyatira Cemetery or Adams Memorial Library Genealogy Room.
