Mrs. Ethel Blanks Pedigo, 86, of Woodbury passed away on August 22, 2017. She was born on October 28, 1930 at her parent’s home in Readyville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde L. Blanks and Gladys Wilson Blanks, also by sisters, Sybil Melton and Geneva Harrell, and an infant brother. She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Pedigo of Woodbury; son, Jerrold (Melissa) Pedigo of Murfreesboro; daughter, Jan Todd of Murfreesboro; sister, Audrey Gilley of Clarksville; grandchildren, Rob Todd, Jay Pedigo Todd, Coleton Pedigo, and Brookelyn Pedigo all of Murfreesboro; great grandson, Noah Riley Todd; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pedigo was a graduate of Woodbury Central High School in the Class of 1948. She met her future husband while they were in high school and quickly became sweethearts. They married on July 1, 1950 and celebrated 67 years of marriage last month. One of her first jobs was with Middle Tennessee Electric. Later she joined Mr. Raymond in the family businesses of Pedigo Realty and Pedigo Construction. She and Mr. Raymond were very close friends with Mr. Clayton and Mrs. Jennie Glenn. They spent many happy times together. Their family was very close-knit, working, playing, and, worshiping at church together. She was a hard worker and balanced her role as a mother and wife with being active in the businesses very well. They spent many hours together on family vacations. They traveled through a lot of the United States, most of Canada and into Alaska. Her family and her church were the two most important things in her life. She and Mr. Raymond were members of the Woodbury Church of Christ for over 50 years. She loved having everyone together on Sundays to worship and then enjoy a meal together. Mrs. Ethel was a humble, quiet, and loving lady who supported her husband and family with care and grace. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Woodbury Church of Christ on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Bro. Herb Alsup and Bro. Daniel Hayes will officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Gardens. Pallbearers will be Randy Tenpenny, Lannie Burger, Bill Weaver, Johnny Sadler, Stan Hollandsworth, and Billy Sherrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah DeBerry, Jerrell Campbell, Larry Odom, Bobby Wilson, Joe Byars, Jim Stone, Jimmy Tate, and Clark Rains. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to any of the following: Woodbury Church of Christ, American Heart Association, or Alzheimer’s Foundation. Contact Smith Funeral Home for details.
