Thad Davenport

Mr. Thad Davenport, 61, of Woodbury passed away on September 15, 2017. He was born in Woodbury, TN on September 10, 1956. His parents were the late Clarence B. Davenport and Georgia Pearl Shipp Davenport. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Freddy Davenport, Wayne Davenport, and Ralph Davenport; and by a sister, Mary Frances McFerrin. He is survived by brothers, C.W. (Linda) Davenport of Murfreesboro, Melvin (Linda) Davenport of Woodbury, Bobby (Kathleen) Davenport of Woodbury, and Lynn Davenport of Woodbury; a sister, Judy (James) Norrell of Hill City, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thad grew up in a big family and learned the value of hard work early on. He worked as an electrician most of his life. He was always willing to help his family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked to mow the yard. Thad had an easy-going personality and liked to kid around with his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 1-3 pm. A graveside service will follow at Riverside Garden. Rev. Jerry Wayne Davenport will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
