Hazel Nadine Blair

September 18, 1938 — August 14, 2018

Ms. Hazel Nadine Fann Blair, 79, of Woodbury passed away on August 14, 2018. She was born Sept 18, 1938. Preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Floyd Fann and Gladys White Merriman Fann and by two brothers, Billy Fann and Bratten Fann.

Survived by her daughter, Anna Blair Nichols (Stanley Browning); one brother, Joe Fann; two grandsons, Josh (Amy) Nichols and TJ (Michelle) Nichols; seven great grandchildren, Laura Beth, Lane, Hannah Jo, Alden, Jolen, Lasten, and Addison; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was also "The Nanny" to so many more.

She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Retired from being a barber for 35 years. Being a barber was a job she enjoyed. Her daughter would ask her why she worked so late, her reply was, "My farmer customers need haircuts too and they don’t want to come in from the field to get a haircut. Besides they know I don't care if they clean up or not." She enjoyed just talking to her customers. She loved her family. She doted on her grandsons and great grandchildren. If she was able she always wanted to go see them play ball or whatever activity they had going on.

She enjoyed chatting with her friends, of which she had many. She loved a good gospel singing or any singing at all. Her flowers were a passion along with cooking. All of life was a passion. She was always willing to help someone (friend, family, or stranger).

She had a favorite song with lyrics that said: “If I could see the smile on every face that entered, shake the hand of every friend I used to know and after I have had a while to be with Jesus, I'd like to be the keeper of the door.” Guess who's the new keeper of the "Door"!

Any memorial donations can be made to The Cannon County Walking Horse Association (she worked very hard for this association for many years) or any youth sport. She loved them all.

Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4-9 pm and on Saturday, August 18, from 9 am-2 pm.  Funeral services will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2 pm in the Smith Funeral Home chapel.
