Mrs. Sally Olean Thomas, 82, of Smithville passed away on January 8, 2019 after a brief illness. She was born in McMinnville, TN on June 15, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Barks and Cora Bell Clemons Barks; husband, Nelson “Ray” Thomas; and all her siblings except one.
She is survived by sons, Randy Thomas of Woodbury, Wiley Daniel “Danny” Thomas of Morrison, David (Ginny) Thomas of Woodbury; Dennis “Duck” (Sherri) Thomas of Smithville; daughter, Rebecca “Sissy” (Sandro) Aguirre of McMinnville; brother, Merl Barks of McMinnville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Thomas loved her family. Raising five children was a rewarding part of her life. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren always put a smile on her face. She enjoyed relaxing on the couch and watching tv during her spare time. She attended Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Smithville.
A memorial service will be held at Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 570 Sink Creek Rd., Smithville, TN 37166, on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2 pm. The family will visit prior to the service from 11am-2pm at the church. Bob Zollinger will officiate. Due to her unexpected passing the family is requesting memorial donations to assist with the expenses.
